Download and install your PasswordFree app

The  PasswordFree passwordless authentication system is available both for mobile devices (Android and iOS) and desktop computers (Windows OS and macOS).

You can download the PasswordFree app for mobile devices from the marketplaces (Google Play and App Store for Android and iOS devices, respectively) and during the PasswordFree Profile / account registration.

However, the PasswordFree desktop app for Windows PC can be downloaded only during Profile / account registration, while PasswordFree desktop macOS app can be downloaded both from the App Store marketplace and during Profile / account registration.

Downloading the  PasswordFree  app from marketplaces

PasswordFree mobile apps

 

1. On your mobile device, open Google Play (for Android) or App Store (for iOS).

2. In the search box, enter PasswordFree and tap Install.

3. After the app is installed, tap Open.

PasswordFree desktop app for macOS

1. On your macOS computer, navigate to App Store. Enter PasswordFree in the Search field and press Return.

2. Click the downloading icon, then click Open.

3. Set up your PasswordFree app for macOS:

  • Allow the PasswordFree app using your location in the respective notification.
  •  To be able to receive push notifications, perform one of the following actions:

i. click Options>Allow in the notifications window displayed in the right-hand upper corner of your macOS screen.

ii. In case such notification window is not displayed, the PasswordFree notifications are to be allowed in your macOS computer settings. To allow the PasswordFree notifications, open System Preferences and navigate to Notifications and Focus.

 Select PasswordFree from the list of applications and switch on the toggle Allow Notifications.

Downloading the  PasswordFree  app during Profile creation

You can download your PasswordFree mobile and desktop application during the process of Profile creation in the browser. For more details on the Profile, go to Profile.

1. Open up the browser on your computer, go to www.nopass.us and click Sign up. 

2. You can register your Profile using either your  email address or social media login.  Perform one of the following actions:

  • To register your Profile with your email address:

1) Enter your email on the registration page and click Continue.

2) Check your email box and click the link in the received email to confirm registration. 

3) On the confirmation page, enter your login and click Continue.

  • To register your Profile with Google:

1) On the registration page, click the Google  icon.

2) Select the account you plan to use for your Profile registration. Remember that you will have to choose the same Google account to sign in to your Profile in the future. 

  • To register your Profile with Facebook

1) On the registration page, click the Facebook  icon.

2) Sign in to your Facebook account or create a new account. Remember to register your Facebook account with your valid email address, otherwise, your Facebook account won't be available to the PasswordFree app.

 

3. You are redirected to the QR-code  page.

To download and install the PasswordFree mobile app, perform  the following actions:

1) Scan the QR code  with your mobile device scanner and download the PasswordFree mobile app from  Google Play or App Store.

2) After the app is installed, tap Open. Your PasswordFree Profile is created simultaneously with installing the PasswordFree mobile app on your Android or iOS device.      

To download and install the PasswordFree desktop app, perform the following actions:

1)  On the QR-code page, click Register on this device. 

2) On the following page, click Install.

3) Depending on what PC (with Windows OS or macOS) you are using, perform one of the following Procedures.

Procedure 1: Download and install the PasswordFree app on your Windows OS computer

1. On your Windows PC, a pop-up window is displayed. On the pop-up, allow the current site to enable the download of the PasswordFree app.

 

: Installing the PasswordFree desktop app may require additional software on your computer.

2. Make sure .Net  Runtime is installed on your computer. Otherwise, click Install in the following dialogue box to install the necessary software.

3. Follow the PasswordFree Setup Wizard instructions.

Procedure 2: Download and install the PasswordFree app on your macOS computer

1. On your macOS computer, you are redirected to the App Store marketplace and the PasswordFree app page is displayed on your screen. Click the downloading icon, then click Open.

2. The PasswordFree app opens on your macOS computer. For the proper working of the application, set up your PasswordFree app.

  • Allow the PasswordFree app using your location in the respective notification..
  • To be able to receive push notifications, perform one of the following actions:

i. click Options>Allow in the notifications window displayed in the right-hand upper corner of your macOS screen.

ii. In case such notification window is not displayed, the PasswordFree notifications are to be allowed in your macOS computer settings. To allow the PasswordFree notifications, open System Preferences and navigate to Notifications and Focus.

 Select PasswordFree from the list of applications and switch on the toggle Allow Notifications.

 

Downloading the  PasswordFree  app during account creation

You can download and install the PasswordFree mobile and desktop app simultaneously with registration of your account on the website with PasswordFree integrated into it. 

Procedure

1. On the chosen website with PasswordFree integrated into it, click Create account. 

2. You can register your  account using either your  email address or social media login. Perform one of the following actions:

  • To register your account with your email address:

 Enter your email on the registration page and click Register.

: You can use your unique email as a login, however, creating additional login will increase the security level even more.

  • To register your account with Google:

1) On the registration page, click the Google  icon.

 

2) Select the account you plan to use for your account registration. Remember that you will have to choose the same Google account to sign in to your account in the future. 

  • To register your account with Facebook:

1) On the registration page, click the Facebook  icon.

 

2) Sign in to your Facebook account or create a new account. Remember to register your Facebook account with your valid email address, otherwise, your Facebook account won't be available to the PasswordFree app.

 

3. You are redirected to the QR-code  page.

To download and install the PasswordFree mobile app, perform  the following actions:

1) Scan the QR code  with your mobile device scanner and download the PasswordFree mobile app from  Google Play or App Store.

2) After the app is installed, tap Open. Your PasswordFree account is created simultaneously with installing the PasswordFree mobile app on your Android or iOS device.      

To download and install the PasswordFree desktop app, perform the following actions:

1)  On the QR-code page, click Register on this device. 

 

2) On the following page, click Install.

3)  Depending on what PC (with Windows OS or macOS) you are using, perform one of the following Procedures.

Procedure 1: Download and install the PasswordFree app on your Windows OS computer

1) On your Windows PC, a pop-up window is displayed. Allow the current site to enable the download of the PasswordFree app.

 

: Installing the PasswordFree desktop app may require additional software on your computer.

2) Make sure .Net Runtime is installed on your computer. Otherwise, click Install in the following dialogue box to install the necessary software.

3) Follow the PasswordFree Setup Wizard instructions.

Procedure 2: Download and install the PasswordFree app on your macOS computer

1) On your macOS computer, you are redirected to the App Store marketplace and the PasswordFree app page is displayed on your screen. Click the downloading icon, then click Open.

2) The PasswordFree app opens on your macOS computer. For the proper working of the application, perform the following steps if required.

  • Allow the PasswordFree app using your location in the respective notification.
  •  To be able to receive push notifications, perform one of the following actions:

Your PasswordFree account is created simultaneously with installing the PasswordFree desktop  app on your  PC and is displayed both in your PasswordFree desktop app and on the website.

 

: To uninstall or update your  PasswordFree desktop app, go to Uninstall and update the PasswordFree Windows desktop app and Uninstall the PasswordFree macOS desktop app.
