Changing email address

You can use one and the same email address to register your BigCommerce and PasswordFree account. Then, if you change your account details on the BigCommerce store website, the details of your PasswordFree account in the browser, in your mobile and desktop app shall be changed  accordingly.

 

: In case you have registered your account with PasswordFree only, you will not be able to change your email address.
Procedure

1. On the BigCommerce webstore homepage, click the Sign in button.

2. On the BigCommerce webstore authentication page, enter your account details and click Sign in.

3. On the following page, click Account Settings.

4. In your Account Settings, enter the changes in the required fields, then enter your current password and click Update Details.

 

: if you want to change your password as well, enter your new password in the Password box, then repeat it in the Confirm Password box and enter your active password in the Current password box. Remember that your new and current passwords are to be different.

5. As soon as your email address is updated, you are prompted in your Account Settings that your account details have been changed.

Results of email  changing

1. After you have changed  your email address, your user data are updated in the corresponding workspace and the respective account is updated:

  • in the list of your PasswordFree accounts in the browser, mobile and desktop app
  • in the PasswordFree database

2.You shall receive a notification to your previous email address with information to the following effect.

Delete your account

In case you are not planning to use passwordless authentication via PasswordFree on the BigCommerce store website, you can delete your BigCommerce store account created with PasswordFree from your PasswordFree mobile or desktop app or in the browser.

Procedure

1. On the Accounts screen, tap and hold (for Android devices) or swipe (for iOS devices) the account you want to delete.

2. Tap the Remove button in the lower part of the screen (for Android devices) or the Delete button (for iOS devices).

3. In the following dialogue box, confirm your action by tapping Remove (for Android devices) or Delete  (for iOS devices).

Now, your account is successfully deleted from your accounts list on your mobile devices.

 

Deleting your account from your PasswordFree desktop app

Procedure

1. Open your PasswordFree desktop application and go to Accounts.

2. Choose the account that you want to delete and click Delete.

3. In the following dialogue box, click Yes, delete.

Now, your chosen account is deleted from your PasswordFree desktop application.

You can also delete your BigCommerce-related account from the PasswordFree in the browser. To perform this, register the PasswordFree Profile and synchronize your accounts. For more details on how to create a PasswordFree Profile, go to Create Profile . For more details on how to synchronize and delete your accounts, go to Manage accounts in your Profile.

Results of account deleting

1. After you have deleted your BigCommerce store account created with PasswordFree from your PasswordFree mobile or desktop app or in the browser, you will be deleted from:

  • the corresponding workspace in the PasswordFree database
  • the store in BigCommerce proxy module

2. Even if you  delete your BigCommerce store account created with PasswordFree from your PasswordFree mobile or desktop app or in the browser, this account still remains in the Customers section of the BigCommerce control panel.

3. If after your account is deleted, you try to sign in without a password on the BigCommerce webstore, the following notification is displayed.

Then, follow Option 3 from the User authentication section.
